Fly fishing adventures with Dreams on the Fly, is an experience you will never forget! See what our guests have to say. We fly fish exclusively in Washington and Oregon for Trout, Steelhead, and Small Mouth Bass on Blue Ribbon waters of the Northwest.
Come join us on the lower Grande Ronde River for an action packed fun filled 3-5 day float tailored to meet your needs.
Smallies are know for their tail slapping water dances, mixed with deep dives and active runs. And although most fly fishers prefer trout or steelhead these average 11-15 inch fish are great fun.
The lower Grande Ronde boast a huge population of smallmouth bass that have voracious appetites! Although minnows and crawfish are their dietary staple, it's not uncommon to have 30-50 fish days on topwater flies such as grasshoppers, poppers and large terrestrials. Our season runs July 15th through September 15th.
Guided Fishing Float (Guide Ratio 1:2 clients)

Our guides cook your meals, share their vast knowledge of the fishery and surrounding areas, guide you down the river, offer instruction on casting, knot tying, entomology, technique for success, reading the bass water and wildlife education.
This is not a Whitewater experience, although during low water flows during the summer there are some Class III waters at the Narrows which require us to portage around. For the most part the lower Grande Ronde is a gentle river going from riffle to pool at every bend. The river is full of Big Bends so every mile of the river hosts a myriad of delights.
The Ronde is set in a deep hostile canyon of rugged cliffs, crags and awesome rock formations. This high desert environment boast vegetation as varied as ponderosa pines to prickley pear cactus, with only one public access into the 50+ miles of canyon, the solitude can be overpowering. During the summer months this river has very few visitors as the climate is very hot and dry, and the bass fishing is remote and pretty much undiscovered.
If you have never experienced a smallmouth bass on a fly rod, you are in for a treat. The smallmouth bass in the Grande Ronde River are AGRESSIVE, TOUGH AND ARE HARD FIGHTERS!.
